The undergraduate exams start on March 18, within days of the festival of Holi. “Colours will be played on March 15 and 16 and on March 17 people will be visiting each other’s homes to wish their near and dear ones. The AU administration should have ensured that the exams start with enough gap after the festival. But it seems the varsity is just interested in taking admissions and conducting the exams with no care whether the students will be able to prepare for the exams or not,” he said.
Sinha also demanded from AU CPIO Prof Amrendra Singh and AU Vice-Chancellor Prof Rajen Harshe that he should be provided information regarding number of classes of political science, English literature and ancient history of BA-II held in this academic year.
Sinha pointed out that the present timetable of BA-II provides that three papers of English literature and two papers of political science would take place consecutively with no gaps from March 18.
“This would create problems for students as the varsity did not even hold adequate number of classes to complete the courses. I have urged the AU Examination controller and the V-C to amend the timetable to provide adequate gaps to the students but to no avail,” he said.
