Aussies satisfied with development and security

At the Games Village on Thursday evening, Australian Commonwealth Games Association (ACGA) chief Perry Crosswhite said that conditions at the venue were acceptable now, with the Australian athletes scheduled to reach the Village on September 27.

At the Games Village on Thursday evening, Australian Commonwealth Games Association (ACGA) chief Perry Crosswhite said that conditions at the venue were acceptable now, with the Australian athletes scheduled to reach the Village on September 27.

Crosswhite, who is in the Capital as a part of the advance teams from member countries, said, “We are pleased with the developments. The residential towers at the Village are improving. They will be quite good by the time our athletes arrive on Sep 27.”

As security still remains a major concern throughout the Games, Crosswhite said, “It's very tight and we are very closely monitoring the situation with the security agencies. We are on for the Games. Definitely.”

Reacting to cleanliness and hygiene at the Village, Crosswhite said that only stagnant water in the basements was an issue.

But Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit had reassured him that it would be cleaned up latest by Thursday night. Crosswhite also said.
