Inaugurated by Dimple Buttar, president of Red Eagle AWWA, the seminar’s itinerary included health education talks by medical officers from Army and Civil, exhibition on HIV/AIDS, poster competition for children of Army School and Kendriya Vidyalaya, Old Cantt and a skit organised by the Nukkad Natak Group.
The response was overwhelming with over 250 troops and families, including school children, taking part. Col G Sivashankar, assistant director of medical services Red Eagle Division, addressed the gathering on safe sex practices and stressed that there was no room for complacency in this matter.
They said concerted efforts to prevent the grave malady was the only means to check relentless spread of AIDS.
