The probes followed a report in HT in its July 25 edition.

Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has asked Indian Medical Research Council (ICMR) director-general Dr V M Katoch to probe the trials.

"Any action against the doctors involved in this will follow the inquiry report," CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan said on Wednesday.

Dr Katoch said the new guidelines of the ICMR and Drug Controller General of India would ensure stricter punishment for the doctors who illegally conducted drug tests.
