Hindustan Times has a copy of the letter written by Urban Development Minister Mohd Azam Khan to all the district magistrates who also happen to be the administrators of their districts municipalities. The letter signed by the minister reached the district magistrate’s office a few days back. It was subsequently forwarded to the Municipal Commissioner with a directive that conditions be improved. The Municipal Commissioner, according to sources, has directed the officials to focus on the shortcomings highlighted by the minister.
However, Municipal Commissioner Badal Chatterjee, when contacted on phone, refused to make any comment.
