Expressing his anguish, Khan said on the complaints of former MP of Rampur, the Governor made frequent visits to investigate the complaints.

Khan was here to participate in the marriage of a Samajwadi Party leader in Sant Kabir Nagar district. During his stay at Circuit House, Khan said the probe over complaints could be conducted by any senior officer but the frequent visits to Rampur by the Governor could not be justified.

Responding to a question regarding his dispute with Cabinet Minister for Haj and Minorities Welfare Haji Yaqoob Qureshi, he said Qureshi was an international leader of the Muslim community and he had no complaints against him.

Khan fixed the June 2 for laying the foundation stone of a slaughterhouse equipped with latest technology at Mahewa Mandi. He said the Union Government had allocated Rs 6 crore for construction of the modern slaughterhouse.

Sources said that slaughterhouse would be constructed at Mahewa Mandi as a committee constituted by the Municipal Corporation board had suggested the site.

It is worthy to note that the old slaughterhouse near Janpriya Vihar Colony was closed due to strong objection by saffron forces and the municipal corporation assured members of the particular community for construction of new slaughterhouse elsewhere within purview of the municipal corporation.

BJP MP Adityanath has already warned that saffron forces would not allow the construction of any slaughterhouse in the city and warned the district administration to be ready to face the consequences.

Khan announced that Rs 20 crore had been allocated for Gorakhpur Municipal Corporation for the pipeline for drinking water, sanitation work and for developing the sewer system. During his 14-hour stay at the Circuit House, Khan heard the complaints of all the political leaders and party workers.

On Friday, when he was going to Mau, he suddenly came out from his official car for on the spot inspection of the ongoing construction work of approach road by municipal corporation in Rustampur locality. He expressed his displeasure over the quality of work and warned municipal commissioner AK Mishra that there were many complaints regarding his apathetic attitude. He seemed furious and left the officials of the Nagar Nigam guessing.
