BAJRANG DAL activists today gheraoed the MIG police station to protest the brutal attack on a Bajrang Dal worker by a listed criminal last night. They staged chakka-jam, and when the police dissuaded them, they went inside the police station and even sat on the TI’s chair, while the police looked on helplessly.
The agitation ended only after senior officers assured them that the accused, Vikki would be arrested within 24 hours. The Bajrangis went away with the threat that they would be back on Monday morning if the police failed to nab the accused.
Led by Bajrang Dal leader Manoj Malpani, the Bajrang Dal activists first squatted outside the MIG police station gates in the morning. They were demanding Vikki’s arrest, who has a number of criminal cases registered against him.
Later the Bajrang Dal activists changed their mind and went inside the police station. Even as the police looked on they entered the TI’s room and Malpani even sat on the TI’s chair.
The Bajrangis, commenting on the failure of the police to nab Vikki, who has a reward of Rs 1000 on his head, told the senior officers that the goonda list should be handed over to them and they would nab them within 24 hours.
During the course of the agitation, the Bajrangis also handed over bangles to the MIG police for their failure to nab Vikki.
As soon as the senior officer came to know about the incident, they rushed to MIG police station with additional force and after a lengthy discussion, the protestors left the police station.
Last night, at around 11 pm, Bajrang Dal activist, Annu Gehlot, resident of Rustam-Ka-Bageecha, was returning home when known miscreant of Gomo-Ki-Phel, Vikram alias Vikki son of Badrilal and two of his accomplice attacked Gehlot.
They first fired from a country made pistol and then repeatedly stabbed Annu and then fled away. Annu sustained 15 stab wounds and has been admitted to the MY Hospital. Police have registered case under Section 307 of IPC against the accused.
Vikki has around 25 cases registered against him. The Tukoganj police wants him for his involvement in a shooting incident while the Pardeshipura police has a stabbing case against him.
He allegedly sells illicit liquor in the mill area and the Bajrangis claim that Annu had complained to the police about Vikki, which resulted in the attack.
Police said that Vikki and Annu had a tiff about a month ago and when Vikki got the chance he attacked Annu.
