Balidan Diwas passes off unnoticed
IT WAS quite surprising to see that Congress workers did not reach at Indira Gandhi crossing to garland her statue and pay homage to the iron lady to mark ?Balidan diwas? of late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Similarly, only one devoted party workers had garlanded the statue of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel to mark his birth anniversary.However, district president of Congress party Sanjeev Kumar Singh organised a programme at the party office to pay homage to the great Congress leader .
IT WAS quite surprising to see that Congress workers did not reach at Indira Gandhi crossing to garland her statue and pay homage to the iron lady to mark ‘Balidan diwas’ of late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Similarly, only one devoted party workers had garlanded the statue of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel to mark his birth anniversary.
However, district president of Congress party Sanjeev Kumar Singh organised a programme at the party office to pay homage to the great Congress leader and highlighted the sacrifice and contributions of Indira Gandhi for the nation.
He said Indira Gandhi had launched a movement to remove poverty and nationalization of banks was one of the milestones in this direction.
Singh said Indira was one of the great leaders of world and during her tenure; country had made a considerable progress in all the fields. Party spokespersons RD Chaturvedi and PN Shukla also paid homage to Congress leader Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel’s 131-birth anniversary.
Paying his tribute to Indira Gandhi, Pradeep Shukla and Subhash Chandra Sharma said Indira Gandhi had restored the prestige of the women and sacrifices her life for national integration.
Party leader Sanjay Gaur and others also paid tribute to the great leaders. City unit president of the party Chaudhary Irshad Husain said Indira Gandhi was still alive in the hearts of the people and the country needs another Indira, who
could lead our nation in a new dimension of development.
