Ban to arrive in India tomorrow, likely to meet Mukherjee

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will arrive in New Delhi on Wednesday night for a visit during which he will meet Indian leaders besides attending a summit on sustainable development.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will arrive in New Delhi on Wednesday night for a visit during which he will meet Indian leaders besides attending a summit on sustainable development.

Ban will arrive here from Pakistan past midnight and will be here for a day.

The UN chief is expected to meet External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee and discuss the regional situation with him.

It is not clear whether he will meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who is recuperating after a cardiac surgery.

He will also attend the Delhi Development Summit 2009 on Thursday.
