According to the police, shops and business establishments downed their shutters and schools and financial institutions remained closed in view of the bandh to protest against the recent killing of two BLT men allegedly by National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) militants in Karbi Anglong district.
Hundreds of vehicles remained stranded on National Highway number 31 with security guards as the bandh was total with the ruling BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary supporting the bandh.
