Shops and business establishments downed their shutters and schools and financial institutions remained closed.

Life came to a standstill on Friday in south Assam's four districts including Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), headquarters of Kokrajhar, on account of a day-long bandh called by the Ex-Bodoland Liberation Tigers (BLT) Welfare Society.

According to the police, shops and business establishments downed their shutters and schools and financial institutions remained closed in view of the bandh to protest against the recent killing of two BLT men allegedly by National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) militants in Karbi Anglong district.
