According to Morena police, Ramveer Gurjar and his uncle Mahendra Gurjar, residents of Bandha village, along with Asharam Gurjar, a resident of Babarkheda, were going on tractor to Saavada village to meet their relatives on Friday night. However, their tractor broke down midway and they left it at Barhana village to proceed on foot. They had proceeded a little when firing started from surrounding areas leaving Mahendra injured.

The bandits had opened fire mistaking the villagers to be police. When the villagers cried that they were not police, the firing stopped. The bandits took Ramveer captive while left Mahendra and Asharam.

Mahendra has been admitted to the Morena district hospital where he has been stated to be out of danger. Police sources expressed possibility of involvement of Jagjeevan gang in this kidnapping.

Morena Additional Superintendent of Police R P Singh said that police have started a search in the ravines for the kidnapped person.
