Bangladesh team named for Lanka series

Bangladeshi selectors named a 20-member squad to play Sri Lanka in a two-Test series next month.

Bangladeshi cricket selectors recalled all-rounder Alok Kapali and dropped pacers Anwar Hossain Munir and Talha Zubair while naming a 20-member squad to play Sri Lanka in a two-Test series next month, a Bangladesh Cricket Control Board statement said on Sunday.

Sri Lanka is scheduled to play two Tests and three one-day international matches in Bangladesh from February 19. Bangladesh has never won a cricket match against its South Asian rival.

Bangladesh's Australian coach Dav Whatmore will start training camp for the selected players from next Sunday at Mirpur outside the Bangladesh capital, Dhaka, the statement said.

The squad: Habibul Bashar (captain), Khaled Mashud, Shahriar Nafees, Javed Omar, Nafees Iqbal, Rajin Saleh, Mohammad Ashraful, Aftab Ahmed, Tushar Imran, Mohammad Rafique, Manjarul Islam Rana, Alok Kapali, Enamul Haque, Khaled Mahmud, Abdur Razzak, Mashrafee Bin Mortaza, Tapash Baishya, Shaikh Russell, Nazmul Hossain and Shahadat Hossain.
