Parking On Weekdays/Weekends: Varies from outlet to outlet. Gets very difficult in the evenings at Connaught Place, Vasant Vihar, Safdarjung Development Area, Greater Kailash-I and Saket. At the other outlets, you’re not likely to face major problems. Parking Fee: Rs 10 to Rs 15, depending on the location of the outlet.

The new generation’s favourite hangout, Barista, inspired by Starbucks, has pioneered a coffee-drinking culture in a city where espresso meant a cross between drinking chocolate and instant coffee, where coffee homes sell milky tea with dosas and vadas. Having woken us up to the world of difference between espresso and cappuccino, or between Café Mocha and Café Latte, Barista’s orange-and-chrome interiors exude a warmth that’ll make you want to come back.

The service standards can vary from outlet to outlet, and you may not always get the food item of your choice, but what’s constant is the sight of trendy youngsters nursing a cup of coffee over a game of Pictionary or Scrabble, or catching up with their exam preparations with a smoothie for company. The food will remind you of cattle-class airline fare, because even the world’s best Chicken Masala Wrap can taste awful after it has been keep in a refrigerated display unit for hours and then microwaved when an order comes in.
