As a result of his steadfast and painstaking efforts over the last several decades, first as a Trade Union Leader and then as head of the dominant political party, the Indian community has begun to play an active role in the governance of the country.
Panday is known for his immense services to the diaspora for creating better understanding of India through his lifelong public service and for contributing to the growth of relations between India and Trinidad and Tobago.
