DrinkWhat could be more refreshing in this scorching Delhi heat than a cool drink to douse your burning thirst? Mannekin, Kasbah, known for its saucy interiors, is offering some fresh fruity summer sips to do just that and more.

Imagine sipping a tropical punch made from fresh mango and orange juice, thickened with bananas and topped with grenadine to add the fruity punch. The drink is ripe and viscous and an instant source of energy. For those who are averse to bananas, fear not! The drink tastes nothing like it. The sugary goodness of mangoes and grenadine overpowers the taste of bananas.

Another refreshing offering is the Coco-Litchi mocktail (Rs 150 plus taxes). Served in a tall margarita glass, the drink is made of canned litchis and coconut syrup. It is a little watery but definitely revitalizing. Bite into the litchis and take a sip, the after taste of coconut will sooth your senses.

Melon Leaf (Rs 150 plus taxes) is top notch. The watermelon, ginger and mint leaves concoction is delicious. Served in a martini glass and rimmed with salt, the sharp flavour of mint blended beautifully with the sweetness of watermelon and a dash of lemon and salt is done to perfection.

As I watched the bartender muddle and shake his way through the drinks, he entertained me with some interesting drinking anecdotes. For instance, do you know that you are never supposed to drink a mojito with straw. It is considered a drinker's sacrilege and most of us are guilty of that!

DrinkMoving on, if mocktails don't excite you and you happen to relish your cocktails then Mannekin is a good bet. Kiwi martini priced at Rs 300 plus taxes is a must try. Garnished with fresh slices of kiwi, the drink is gentle and yet packs in quite a punch. One mistake which most of us commit is to consume a cocktail like beer! The trick is to hold the sip in your mouth and swirl it with your tongue. This releases a blitzkrieg of flavours.

The Green Apple martini (Rs 300 plus taxes) is a disappointment primarily because there is no green apple in the martini. It has a smoky aftertaste which is harsh on the palate.

Ever heard of Green chilli martini? That is what you get when you mix finely chopped chilies with vodka. A fiery drink which is bound to make you cry! It is spicy, biting and extremely tasty. A must try for adventurous drinkers!

All in all, the summer coolers at Mannekin will definitely beat the Delhi heat!
