Marcia Gay Harden

Mystic River

With an impressive screen debut in Miller's Crossing in 1990, this attractive, dark-haired actress' career took a positive direction. In 1991, Harden successfully portrayed a woman in Late for Dinner, who ages from her twenties to her fifties and demonstrated her flair for character work that would become her hallmark. After a slew of successful movies like Crush (1992), The Spitfire Grill (1996), and The First Wives Club (1996) among others, Marcia finally received the Best Supporting Actress Oscar at the 2000 Academy Awards. In Mystic River she plays a distraught wife whose fear of her husband's deep-seated emotional anguish leads her to suspect him of murder.
