BHU PhD scholars to get scholarship soon

BANARAS HINDU University (BHU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Panjab Singh said that all the Ph.D scholars of BHU would soon get a scholarship of around Rs 5,000 to 6,000 per month.

BANARAS HINDU University (BHU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Panjab Singh said that all the Ph.D scholars of BHU would soon get a scholarship of around Rs 5,000 to 6,000 per month.

He was addressing a book release function at the Institute of Agricultural Sciences (IAS-BHU) here on Monday. Prof. Panjab Singh said that Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and University Grants Commission (UGC) have Okayed a project to extend scholarships to Ph.D scholars.

“The process is on,” said the BHU V-C, adding that the Ph.D scholars of BHU would soon get a sum of Rs 5,000 – 6,000 every month for their research activities. He called upon the scientists and research scholars to work on mass oriented projects so that people at grassroots level may avail the benefits of these researches.

He said that efforts were on to improve the infrastructure facilities at BHU’s South Campus in Barkacha (Mirzapur). He added that he would meet Union Agriculture Minister, Sharad Pawar this week to get some additional grants for this campus. The V-C released annual journal of Agronomy Department, ‘Agronamika’. Besides, three manuals such as ‘Soil and Plant Analysis’ authored by Dr JS Vohra, ‘Crop Production’ authored by Dr Yashwant Singh and ‘Weed Control’ authored by Dr RK Singh were also released.
