Faculty member at the Institute for Science and Ethics, Duisburg-Essen University (Germany), Dr. Christian Streffer, also member of Indo-German collaborative programme agreed on this joint project with Medicinal Chemistry Department, Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS-BHU).
Dr. Streffer was in BHU to participate in a three-day international conference on radiation biology and delivered a lecture on `International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP)-New Recommendations: Outline of the Present Discussions.’ Convenor of the conference and faculty member at Medicinal Chemistry Department (IMS-BHU), Prof. Yamini Bhushan Tripathi said that research work would be done on a plant called ‘Nihella Setiva’ commonly known as ‘Mangrail’ in the first stage. `In principle both of us have agreed to place a new proposal before both sides for its formal announcement,’ she added.
