Thanks to his China Open triumph on Sunday, Mahesh Bhupathi moved up four rungs to 25 in the men's doubles rankings even though his estranged partner Leander Paes remained static on ninth, as was 70th placed Sania Mirza.

Bhupathi, who partnered Mario Ancic in Beijing to lift the title beating the Michael Berrer-Kenneth Carlsen pair in straight sets, was ranked 29th last week.

Paes, winner of US Open, hangs on to his ninth place, followed by his Czech comrade-in-arms Martin Damm.

Sania, struggling with inconsistent form, remains 70th with 366 rankings points in her kitty.

Next Indian on the ladder is US-based Shikha Uberoi (140.75) who moved up one place to 193, according to information received here today.

Among others, Ankita Bhambri (53.75) also moved up a notch to 360, Isha Lakhani (45.50) slid three places to 390.
