Bhupathi-Stepanek in Monte Carlo quarters

Bhupathi and Stepanek defeated Paes and Martin Damm to advance to the men's doubles quarters of Monte Carlo Masters.

Mahesh Bhupathi and Radek Stepanek have beaten Leander Paes and Martin Damm 6-1, 6-4 to advance to the men's doubles quarterfinals of the Monte Carlo Masters on Thursday.

Bhupathi and Stepanek dropped one game before winning the first set.

In the second set, fourth seed Paes and Damm tried for a comeback but in vain.

The Bhupathi-Stepanek combine will face the winners of the match between Roger Federer-Yves Allegro and Stephen Huss-Pavel Vizner.
