When police prevented them from moving towards the Gandhi statue near old Vidhan Sabha where the dharna was planned, they started protesting vociferously and raised slogans against the BJP government.

Police then arrested Bhuria and 125 others for disrupting peace under section 151 of the IPC, additional district magistrate (ADM) Rajnish Shrivastava told PTI.

He clarified that initially Congress Party was given permission to hold the protest, but later it was withdrawn as the area around Gandhi statue situated in the Old Vidhan Sabha premises falls under the jurisdiction of the state assembly which had turned down the Opposition party's application.
