Bihar MLA Ranvijay Singh arrested in murder case
MLA from Goh in Bihar's Aurangabad district, has been arrested in Hazaribagh in neighbouring Jharkhand in connection with a murder case.
Ranvijay Singh, ruling JD(U) MLA from Goh in Bihar's Aurangabad district, has been arrested in Hazaribagh in neighbouring Jharkhand in connection with a murder case, police said on Friday.
Singh was arrested from a place in Hazaribagh town on Thursday night on the order of Deputy Inspector General of Police (Magadh range) Umesh Kumar Singh, Aurangabad Superintendent of Police Sunil Khopde said.
The MLA was a named accused in the killing of one Brijnandan Yadav at Hasanpur village under Goh police station on February 3, 2005 during the campaigning for assembly elections
Yadav had in his dying declaration alleged that Singh had himself shot at him with a rifle.
The SP had in his supervision report found the charge as true following which the DIG had on January 31 this year ordered the MLA's arrest.
Singh is being brought for production before the court after which he will be forwarded to jail, Khopde said.
