A woman died of severe burn injuries after a man allegedly threw acid at her in Katihar district in Bihar, police said on Wednesday.

A woman died of severe burn injuries after a man allegedly threw acid at her in Katihar district in Bihar, police said on Wednesday.
Dayawati Devi used to deposit money with one Kalu Singh at Ragamatia village. When she demanded her money back, Singh got angry and allegedly poured a bottle of acid on her on Wednesday.
People rushed to her rescue after hearing her scream and admitted her to Barsoi hospital.
She later succumbed to injuries and died, police said.
The victim was living with her daughter.
An FIR has been lodged and the daughter's statement was registered. The accused is still absconding.
