Bizman’s son injures 6 in car crash

And the silver Maruti Swift collided with three taxis and a bicycle parked ahead.

Seven people were injured, one of them seriously, in a pile-up near Girgaum Chowpatty around 4 pm on Sunday, the police said.

At the wheel of the Maruti Swift was Abhay Shah (20), son of a businessman from Walkeshwar, the police added .

“Shah lost control of the car as one of the tyres burst. The car collided with three taxis and ran into a cyclist,” said Senior Inspector N R Mali.

The accident took place near Bhel Plaza around 4 pm.

The two cabbies, two passengers, the cyclist and a passerby were injured in the mishap, besides Shah.

“Shah, who is recuperating at Breach Candy Hospital, has been booked for rash and negligent driving,” said Mali. “He will be arrested after he is discharged from hospital.”

Mali said that they were inquiring if Shah was drunk at the time of mishap.

Of the six other victims, one is in a serious condition at Nair Hospital while the others had been discharged by late Sunday evening.
