"Mayawati government is treating Varun like a terrorist after fabricating different cases against him. The state government invoked the NSA against him without examining the forensic report of the CD, allegedly containing inflammatory speeches", BJP President Rajnath Singh said addressing an election rally in Ballia.

If voted to power, the NDA government 'will tighten the noose around Mayawati government', he said, adding that there is no possibility of the BJP-led coalition having any type of alliance with Mayawati's BSP in future.

Charging the state government with having taken Varun to Etah like a terrorist, Singh said the BJP will fight for its Pilibhit nominee both politically and legally.

Claiming that the BJP-led alliance is all set to form the next government at the Centre, he said while the UPA is falling apart, NDA is expanding.

Accusing the UPA of failing to check inflation, Singh claimed that the previous NDA regime had reined in inflation despite nuclear tests and the subsequent US economic sanctions against the country.

He also alleged that both SP and BSP have nothing to do with the development of Uttar Pardesh.
