MORE THAN two-dozen angry residents of Ravidaspura, Shahjahanabad, including some BJP activists, staged a demonstration in front of Master Lal Singh hospital in protest of the death of a two-day-old girl who was administered an injection by a doctor of the hospital.

According to information, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker Dilip’s wife delivered a girl at home a couple of days ago. The child was reported to be born healthy and without any complications.

However, due to the sudden change in weather because of rains, the child became sick and started vomiting and having loose motions. Her parents took her to the Lal Singh hospital, as it was close to their home.

After initial check up at the hospital, the child was administered an injection by the doctor on duty there. However, after reaching home, the girl suddenly developed some complications and her skin colour turned blue, the parents alleged.

Soon, she died before the parents could take her back to the hospital. Enraged at her death, the girl’s father complained about it to other BJP activists of the area and a large crowd led by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) Shahjahanabad mandal president Rajkumar Dubey reached the hospital.

Activists, with the body of the girl in their hands, shouted slogans in front of the hospital demanding immediate removal of the doctor who had administered the injection.

The activists alleged that the girl had died due to the doctor’s negligence in administering the injection. The activists even misbehaved with some of the doctors and other duty staff of the hospital.

They ransacked some of the rooms and broke furniture inside the hospital. Soon police reached the spot and pacified the protestors and persuaded them to perform the last rites of the deceased child. Police added the girl’s uncle is a history sheeter of the area and he had brought along some goons who had ransacked the hospital.
