BJP activists take out victory march

BHARATIYA JANATA Party activists of took out a ?Victory March? for its success in the recently concluded civic body elections here in Varanasi on Thursday. The mayor-elect of Varanasi Nagar Nigam, Kaushlendra Singh and all the 35 corporators of BJP participated in the ?Victory March? and expressed their gratitude to people of the city for their victory.

The mayor-elect of Varanasi Nagar Nigam, Kaushlendra Singh and all the 35 corporators of BJP participated in the ‘Victory March’ and expressed their gratitude to people of the city for their victory.

The march started from the party’s Gulab Bagh office and after passing from Maldahiya, Chaukaghat, Pandeypur, Shivpur, Orderly Bazar, Kachehari, Golghar, Andharapul, Cantt, Sigra, Rathyatra, Bhelupur, Durga Kund, Lanka, Assi, Sonapura, Madanpur, Godowlia, Chauk, Maidagin, Kabir Chaura, Lahurabeer and Fatman, concluded at Gulab Bagh.

Kaushlendra Singh was accompanied by MLAs Shyam Deo Roy Chaudhary, Harishchansdra Srivastava, Ajay Rai, MLC Kedarnath Singh, Ashok Dhawan, Kailash Keshari and Harshpal Kapoor in an open roof four-wheeler.

Other corporators were travelling in separate open roof four-wheelers. Prominent among other BJP leaders who participated in the march included Sanjay Rai, Sudhir Mishra, Devanand Singh, Navratan Rathi, Shanker Giri, Ravi Shanker Singh, Ratan Singh, Sujit Singh and Ravindra Jaiswal.

It may be noted that the BJP bagged the seat of mayor for the third consecutive term in the civic body election. The number of corporators also increased from last time.
