Film and television actors are much in demand this election. More so for BJP candidates who are banking on these star campaigners to get them votes.

State BJP leader Shanti Desai, who manages the star campaign with councillor Vijender Gupta, is being flooded with requests for star dates. Film actress and Rajya Sabha member Hema Malini is the first choice followed by Shatrughan (Shotgun) Sinha and Vinod Khanna. BJP's chief ministerial candidate Madan Lal Khurana wants both Hema Malini and Shatrughan Sinha to campaign for him.

Unfortunately for most BJP candidates, Hema Malini has been able to spare just one day for campaigning in Delhi. On Wednesday, she will campaign in Ambedkar Nagar and Okhla, two seats where BJP leaders see little chance for their candidates.

She is also scheduled to visit Ram Nagar and Patel Nagar in central Delhi, Khurana's Moti Nagar constituency, opposition leader Jagdish Mukhi's Janakpuri , and Majnu-ka-Tila.

While Smriti 'Tulsi' Irani concluded her campaign on Tuesday, Vinod Khanna, Shatrughan Sinha and Dara Singh will hit the road in the next three days.

Some of the candidates are engaging stars on their own rather than wait for the party to allocate them official star campaigners. Saket candidate Vijay Jolly got Amisha Patel and Aman Verma to campaign for him. TV stars Sweta Keswani and Anu campaigned for Kamla Nagar candidate Surya Prakash.
