?BJP Govt speeded up work for Simhastha?

Echoing Chief Minister Uma Bharti?s allegations against the previous Government of shoddy preparations for the Simhastha a day before in Bhopal, Minister-in-charge, Simhastha affairs, Kailash Vijayvargiya today claimed the Digvijay Singh Government had earmarked Rs 217 crore for the mega event out of which only Rs 178 crore was sanctioned by March end. The incumbent BJP Government enhanced the sanction to Rs 268 crore, he added. He told newsmen that there were 260 pieces of work earlier to which the new Government added 98 in a record time of about three months. In reply to a question, he said, there was no need for him to take a break off the Simhastha affairs for electioneering, for the Congress has found it difficult to select candidates for Indore and Ujjain Lok Sabha seats.

Congress leaders discussed among themselves who could be the best candidates who would lose by less margin, he quipped. Vijayvargiya did not forget to tell the journalists that he wanted to get the MR 10 inaugurated by a saint.

The State Government could not inaugurate it because of the model code of conduct for the Lok Sabha elections. He said as he was driving down to Indore on the road he saw carcade of Jungli Das ji Maharaj. He requested him to inaugurate the road and he obliged by putting a flower on the road.
