LOCAL BHARATIYA Janata Party (BJP) leaders visited Kazi ki Chawl on Thursday to hold talks with members of the minority community and assured them of full support in tracing people responsible for the unrest.
It was decided to form a committee, which will trace the reasons and people behind the violence and pass on the information and its recommendations to police and district administration for appropriate action. The 10-member committee will have five members each from both communities.
Former MLA Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, Indore Development Authority Chairman Madhu Verma, City BJP president Ramesh Mendola, Municipal Council Chairman Shankar Lalwani, corporator Chandu Shinde, ex-corporators Suraj Kairo and Kalyan Devang held parleys with elders of minority community.
“The people have had very cordial relations at Kazi ki Chawl in past 50 years. Only a handful of people had disturbed peace and this has to be stopped,” Shekhawat said, and added that people pf the area have long been associated with BJP. He denied that Chawl inhabitants were living in terror and said that they have resumed work. The BJP leaders also met IG Rajendra Kumar, District Collector Vivek Aggarwal and SP Anshuman Yadav in this connection.
