BJP is leading in 13 assembly seats, while Congress in eight.

UPA ally JMM, which fought separately from Congress in the state assembly election is leading in seven seats, RJD in four, while others are ahead in two seats.

Congress and its ally JVM expressed confidence that their alliance will form the next government in the state.

"I feel Congress will be the single largest party....We would form the government," senior Congress leader from the state and Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay said.

Sahay's name is doing rounds for the post of Chief Minister if the alliance wins.

JVM chief Babulal Marandi also felt that the alliance will form a government on its own. He also said,"if we are short of two to four seats, those who want the development of Jharkhand will themselves come and support us."
