"The BJP has no sympathy for the minorities, it wants to express apology to the Muslims only because the general elections are near. Is this not opportunism?" Singhvi said in Jodhpur on Wednesday while talking to media persons.

Referring to the BJP national president Rajnath Singh's statement during a seminar on Tuesday where he said that his party would "apologise" if it had made any mistake, Singhvi said: "BJP wants power at any cost," adding, "past experiences have shown that they forget everything once they get it."

On Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa move to release Rajiv Gandhi's killers, he said she is only trying to seek political mileage out of it.

On AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal allegations that BJP and Congress are hand-in-gloves with industrialist Mukesh Ambani, Singhvi said his charges are absolutely baseless.

Talking about party's choice of candidates for the Lok Sabha polls, he said the process to select them would be based on the parameters laid down by Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi.
