According to police, the incident occurred at around 10.30 pm last night. A dispute had been going on for some time between Rajesh (32), son of Vijaysingh Sisodia (of Janata Colony, who runs the Jai Girnari Cable Company, and Bharat Raghuvanshi of Malviya Nagar. Both wanted to give cable connection at the BCM Height Building, situated near Bombay Hospital.
A compromise had been arrived at between the two, under which Sisodia had given up his claim. However, the fight flared up when Sisodia went to the building once again yesterday, and was attacked by Raghuvanshi and others.
In the attack Sisodia, Sonu Agrawal, Kiran Bhawsar, Sachin and two others were injured. All of them had to be hospitalised. Later, some of Sisodia’s friends re-grouped and came armed in a number of two-wheelers.
They sought out the houses of those who had attacked them and threw stones, and also damaged two to three vehicles. The house of Bharat Raghuvanshi at Malviya Nagar was also damaged in the stone throwing.
Cross complaints were lodged at the MIG police station. Following a report by Rajesh Sisodia, police registered cases against Bharat Raghuvanshi, Vikki Raghuvanshi, Golu Raghuvanshi, Pramod Patil, Harish, Golu, Chintu, Rajesh son of Ramesh, Arvind, and Rajesh son of Basant and his brother Ajay under Sections 147, 148, 144, 307, 294 and 506 of IPC.
Following a report from Vikki Raghuvanshi, cases were also registered against unknown persons for damaging property. Police have arrested five persons from the Raghuvanshi group. They are trying to trace the youths who came on two-wheelers and damaged property. There is a political angle to the entire fight also. While Congress party supports Raghuvanshi, some BJP leaders reportedly support Sisodia.
