In its judgement, the Tribunal accepted REL's contention that Tata Power did not have the licence to supply electricity to retail consumers in Mumbai.
In another case, the Tribunal set aside an order by Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission on a plea by Tata Power, which had barred Anil Ambani-controlled firm REL from giving rebate to its consumers in Mumbai.
