BMC officials scurry to remove temple

THE CONSTRUCTION of a temple overnight in the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) premises at Mata Mandir has triggered off a dispute. According to Government rules, there should be no new construction of any religion in Government offices.

THE CONSTRUCTION of a temple overnight in the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) premises at Mata Mandir has triggered off a dispute. According to Government rules, there should be no new construction of any religion in Government offices.

Sources said an old temporary shed was being converted into a temple at BMC’s Water Works Premises at Mata Mandir. The Public Health Engineering had handed over this campus to the BMC in 1995 along with water supply schemes.
