MAKING ITS own contribution to the proposed development around New Market, the Bhopal Municipal Corporation has proposed a mega shopping mall cum residential complex under its ‘builders promoters’ scheme at Jawahar Chowk.
The proposed complex at the prime location of Jawahar Chowk would have 122 shops and 96 residential flats of different types. Besides, it would also bring Rs 9.40 crore to the BMC’s kitty. The complex will be spread over 334 square meters.
It is proposed that four blocks having shops and flats would be constructed in the complex. Mostly, shops would be provided to those who were relocated by the BMC from different parts of the City.
The BMC project section officials informed that the ground floor would totally be meant for parking space. This parking lot could accommodate 93 four-wheelers. Of these, there would be covered parking for 80 four-wheelers. Thus, there would be sufficient parking space for the visitors of this complex, said officials.
The officials informed that there would be separate entry for the residential and commercial area. Therefore, there would be no problem for the people living in the flats due to shops. The residential section will have 76 MIG flats and six HIG flats. Besides, six LIG flats would also be constructed.
The BMC had already implemented two such projects under its ‘builders promoters’ scheme. One such project was implemented at the prime location in front of Patrakar Bhawan in Malviya Nagar. A residential project was also implemented at Mata Mandir.
