The BMC officials have proposed this plan under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission. The officials said that they would get the additional land after the completion of required construction. The concrete base would direct the flow of nullahs in a particular direction, they added.

There are 127 nullahs in the city to drain out the wastewater. The BMC has planned that it would get some additional land by constructing concrete structures in some big nullahs. These nullahs include Aradhana Nagar nullah, Patra nullah, Slaughterhouse nullah, Apsara Talkies nullah and 12 No Bus Stop nullah.

The officials said that they would get additional land at Pushpa Nagar, Rajendra Nagar and Dwarka Nagar, Mahamai Ka Bagh along Patra nullah. Besides, there is large open space around Aradhana Nagar nullah.

The BMC successfully executed this type of project at 10 No Bus Stop nullah, where it has constructed some shops besides the public utility centre. It is likely that the BMC would get some additional revenue through this project.
