The situation becomes worse for the passenger when he has to rush to the inquiry counter to get the position of the train and there is no one at the counter to attend him. Not only this, sometimes the employee sitting at the counter seems to be disinterested in giving satisfactory reply to the passenger.

One of the passengers and a resident of Bhadohi, Ravindra Singh, said that the inquiry system at the station needs a great improvement.

Presently the system is such that the harried passengers have to rush to the inquiry counter to get the information and there too sometimes they are unable to get exact position of the trains, he said, adding that in order to facilitate the passengers, the railway authorities should install boards on every platform which display the exact position of the trains.

"In order to get the position of Inter-City train which runs from Allahabad to Lucknow I had to inquire from other passengers at the platform. But then too, I was not able to get the exact position of the train.

Finally I had to move to the inquiry counter which is far away from the platform number 9 from which the Inter-City departures", said another passenger and a resident of Bhilai, Nandlal, who was waiting for the train to arrive.

Such problems arise for the passengers, as there is no proper board at the platforms displaying the position of the trains, he added.

What's more, even the announcement at the platforms are not very clear which often leads to confusion regarding the position of the train.

Yet another passenger and a resident of Bamrauli, Mohammed Amzad, said, "It is not easy to hear to the announcements which are made at the platforms. It seems that the sound boxes installed at the station are of poor quality".
Besides, the inquiry system is also not very sound. One has to rush to the inquiry counter, to get the exact position of the train, he said.

Chief Public Relation Officer, NCR BP Pandey said, "There is a proposal to install digital display boards at the Allahabad Junction Railway Station. And the work will be done by the end of the financial year."

Initially, the display boards will be set up on City side of the station, he said.As far as unclear announcement is concerned, the system is computerised and we just have to set train number and timings on the system, said CPRO.
