Bollywood Music Awards to be a big draw

The Bollywood Group of Companies and CL Communications have joined forces to bring to viewers a mega Indo-Caribbean event - Bollywood Music Awards.

Bollywood Trade quoted a joint statement by representatives for both the groups as saying: "We share our common views, ideas and goals, and we have plans to take our projects to the next level and place them in a league of their own. We are targeting the international market share for such entertaining events."

Said Kamal Dandona, chairman of the Bollywood Group of Companies: "We started these awards in 1999 with celebrated artistes like Michael Jackson, Shah Rukh Khan, Junoon band, Runa Laila, Apache Indian, Bali Brahmbhatt and the legendary Jose Feliciano participating in the event.

"We bring artistes from every corner of the world - South East Asia, Far East, North America, South America, Europe, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Africa, Europe and the South Pacific."

The C.L. Communications conglomerate has acquired the event rights for the awards to be held at Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago. C.L. Financials' Radio 90.5 FM will be the headline sponsor.

Added Anthony Maharaj, a movie producer-director and CEO of C.L. Communications: "We are proud to be a part of these awards. Special shows like these will complement popular sitcoms, serials, music programmes and talk shows."

The Bollywood Music Awards are organised by South Asians living in North America to honour music artistes for outstanding performances. Around 270 million people in over 90 countries will witness the much-awaited annual event Dec 3 at Queen's Park Oval in Trinidad.
