A three-year-old boy died after he fell into a manhole at suburban Mira Road in Thane, police said on Wednesday.

A three-year-old boy died after he fell into a manhole at suburban Mira Road in Thane, police said on Wednesday.
The incident took place Tuesday night when Hrishikesh Gupta was returning home with his mother and elder brother after visiting a doctor in the locality, they said.
Searches were conducted and firemen were called after a slipper of the toddler was found near the manhole, the police said.
The dead body was later fished out, they said, adding a case of accidental death has been registered at Navghar police station in suburban Bhayander.
