A MINOR boy was killed and two others were injured in a cylinder blast at an illegal LPG outlet in Maal area on Friday morning. A case has been registered against the shopowner, who was engaged in refilling and supply of cylinders.

Residents alleged the accused was running the illegal business in connivance with the local police. The police found about 65 cylinders stored in the outlet.
Panic gripped the Usrehta Gehdo market following the blast , which took place at around 10 am, at Shravan Kumar Yadav’s shop.
Anil Kumar (12) of Malkhapur village and two others identified as Ram Narayan alias Shyam Lal (32) of Gehdo and Rajendra (35) of Kasmandi, Malihabad were critically injured.
The residents rushed the injured to a clinic from where they were taken to the KGMU Trauma Centre.
Anil, however, succumbed to his injuries any treatment could be started.
Condition of Shyamlal is stated to be critical.
Eyewitnesses said Anil, a student of government school at Gehdo, was purchasing some commodity from a shop close to Yadav’s shop while Shyamlal and Rajendra were waiting for their turn at a nearby barber’s shop.
It was later revealed that Yadav ran a general merchant shop and was also involved in supplying cylinders after refilling it from an outlet adjacent to his shop.
Local residents gathered outside the police station demanding action against the culprit. They alleged that the local police were hand-in-glove with Yadav.
They said they had made complaints to the station officer (SO) several times regarding a possible tragedy. But, the SO never bothered to look into their complaint, the agitators, who were later chased away by the police, alleged.
