Boy thrown from train: RPF man held

A Railway Protection Force man, who threw a 12-year-old boy out of a running train near Kudhani railway station on Thursday, was arrested in Muzzaffarpur this evening.

A Railway Protection Force man, who threw a 12-year-old boy out of a running train near Kudhani railway station on Thursday, was arrested in Muzzaffarpur this evening.

Superintendent of Police (Railway) Amit Lodha said told PTI that said several RPF personnel, posted at Hajipur and here, were brought to the Srikrishna Medical College Hospital (SKMCH) here for test identification parade where the victim Salahuddin identified Havildar Rameshwar Prasad whom he charged with throwing him out of the train. The police arrested Prasad.

Salahuddin was allegedly thrown by the RPF havildar when the victim refused to pay bribe for not carrying a valid ticket for travelling in the train near Kudhani railway station in Muzaffarpur-Hajipur section of East Central Railway on Thursday, Lodha said.

The doctors had to amputate the left leg of the boy because of the accident and since then, he said.

RJD supremo Lalu Prasad had demanded that the RPF authorities dismiss the havildar and lodge a murder case against him.
