Utkarsh Agarwal of Habibs beauty clinic in Swaroop Nagar says most boys want to get their hair coloured and streaked. Golden colour is very popular among boys. Other than the hair colour, boys also want to get their straightened in order to get the John Abraham look.

Most boys prefer hair spa to improve the texture of their hair. Tarun Gupta, a B.Com student, says that appearance matters a lot. Even if nobody knows you, people do take notice of your looks. Today, your looks can take you places.

Good looks attract people’s attention and create respect for you, he says.

Piyush Singh, an employee in a multinational bank, says people start taking you little more seriously if you look good. On the other side it makes you feel more confident while facing people. Abhishek Mathur, a 12th standard student says if girls can be so conscious about their skin, hair or their body, why can’t boys.

Rahul Gupta, owner of a men’s salon at Mall road, is of the view that this change in men’s attitude is because of movies. This is not only to compete with girls or to impress them but to maintain a status among their friends. They are becoming more fashion conscious and keep themselves updated with the latest trend in order to become a style icon. Kshitij Rawat agrees with Rahul. He says that men’s salons too have understood our needs and have started keeping themselves posted with the latest beauty treatments.
