Senior BJP leader Saryu Roy today demanded a CBI probe into the gunning down of former Ranvir Sena head Brahmeshwar Singh in Bihar's Bhojpur district.

"I condemn the killing of Bihar's farmers' leader Brahmeshwar Singh. The Bihar government should recommend a CBI probe into the gunning down as he was contemplating to enter politics," Roy, a former MLA from Jamshedpur, said in a statement.

He appealed to the Nitish Kumar government to track down the killers and punish them.

Brahmeshwar, who headed the banned Ranvir Sena, was shot dead by unknown gunmen in Bhojpur during the day.
