Police came to know that miscreants had planned the loot in the district jail two weeks earlier.

Police station in-charge of Tiwaripur, Ramji Chaudhary, procured the photograph of a miscreant who was released on bail from the district jail. The miscreant’s photograph was shown to Umesh Chand Jaiswal for verification and he identified it as that of one of the criminals who had attacked him and snatched the bag containing the money.

According to sources, the miscreants were in the district jail and had planned to commit a big loot. On Thursday they looted Umesh Chand Jaiswal. Police personnel have nabbed some close relatives of the miscreants. This was the second incident of loot under the same police station within a month.

Earlier, miscreants had looted RS 20 lakh at Shahi Market in Golghar. Though police had worked out the loot case at Shahi Market, but repeated incidents of loot have generated a sense of insecurity among the traders.

Police officials too are on their toes with emergence of new criminal groups in the region.
