THE THREE-DAY-LONG extravaganza of re-union and 95th raising day of the Corps of Signals on Monday got off to a fine start here, with among other functions, felicitation of 'Veer Narees', whose husbands have attained martyrdom and awesome air show.

The Surya Kiran Formation Team of Indian Air Force (IAF) comprising nine brave-hearts performed acrobats with indigenously built Kiran Mark II leaving thousands of spectators, including women and children literally breathless.

The events, para-drop, free fall and micro flight display added colours to the celebrations. Earlier, Signal Officer-in-Chief Lieutenant General Davinder Kumar, in his inaugural address praised the Signallers for excellent performance in various spheres. He shed light on the measures underway to better the quality of life of the humble Signalman.

He drew the attention of the Signallers to the changing dynamics of warfare and asked them to be prepared for the challenges of network centric warfare.
