Janata Party on Sunday demanded that CPI-M leader Brinda Karat apologise to Swami Ramdev for having "falsely maligned" him by "recklessly accusing" him of "patronising" his Divya Yog Pharmacy in the selling of ayurvedic medicines that had human and animal remains as ingredients.

The Uttaranchal Health Minister had announced recently that a random sample of four medicines taken from the pharmacy and sent to the prestigious Sriram Institute of Industrial Research, New Delhi, showed no human or animal residue, he said in a statement.
"The CPI-M is anti-religious and is jealous of Swami Ramdev's popularity and preaching of moral values. Hence Karat's slander," he said adding the communists were "always afraid of Hindu renaissance."
