Former Bond superstar Pierce Brosnan has revealed that the threat of being kidnapped during the filming of the movie The Matador' in Mexico City had him so nervous, that he often changed armoured cars as a precaution.

Brosnan said that he had read a long article on kidnappings in Mexico City just before he left for the place.

"I do remember a week before we left there was a big article in the LA Times which talked about all the kidnapping," the Mirror quoted him, as saying.

The Dante's Peak star added that the reports had certainly spooked them, and that they had taken every precaution during the shooting of the film, and always moved around with security.

"We had great security with us all the time and travelled in armoured vehicles. There was a real concern. I had to change cars three times because we had these unexplained blow-outs. What happens is they puncture the tyres right near the valve and of course you have to pull over and that's when these kidnappers can pounce," he said.
