BSF jawan swept away to Pakistan

Inspector general border security force (Jammu Frontiers) Rakesh Sharma told HT that they had contacted the Pakistani rangers and the jawan would possibly return soon.

The IG said the four jawans were patrolling the Pargwal area when the boat engine stopped working because of some technical snag. He said another boat was immediately sent to bring back the patrolling jawans.

"While three jawans were shifted, the damaged boat moved towards Pakistan in a sudden strong water currents. Sataysheel Yadav of 33rd battalion of the BSF jumped off the boat when it was about 400 metre from the Pakistan border but was swept away to the other side," said the IG.

He said that the BSF had contacted the Pak Rangers.
