Charging the ruling BSP in Uttar Pradesh with failure in discharging its constitutional obligations, the state BJP today said it has lost the right to stay in power.
"Not only people of the state but the Supreme Court in its recent remark over the functioning of the BSP government had expressed similar observations", state BJP president Ramapati Ram Tripathi told reporters here.
Blaming the Congress for the BSP misrule in UP, Tripathi said that the Centre had failed to reign in the state government and restore rule of law.
Denying reports about any leadership crisis in the BJP, he said, "The whole party is united to expose the BSP government, which enjoys the hidden sympathy of the union government."
Flaying the BSP government for the "misappropriation of public funds", Tripathi said, "The people of the state are reeling under acute power crisis but the BSP government is busy in illuminating stones and statues than providing electricity to people."
